Well, I believe we officially have a southern gal in the family. Katie has picked up the language. We like the "yes sir & yes mam". We have even got into saying y'all. The one that seals the deal for this area is what she said the other day. We were sitting at a red light and she said to me, "Mom, that man is fixin' to cross the street." Fixin in the south, I have noticed, has two meanings 1) going to 2) the fixin's you put on your hamburger. They even list it on the school lunch menu as hamburger and fixin's.

I can totally relate!!! My boys have a few words that are southern...and Dave has gotten his accent back. I get kids in church telling me I have an accent...too funny!
I love southern accents! Hurray for Katie!
I am glad we are able to catch up. How are you guys doing?
Sorry Karen for posting anon - I couldn't get my blogger id to work.
That message was from Maria :)
Yeah, with Fixin' you've got a true southern belle.
I love it! Sydney will catch herself every now and again and she hates it. Gage on the other hand, is all about the accent. I think it's cute.
I totally thought I commented on this. How funny! I bet it shocks you to hear her. When our kids say things that sound like they are from Maryland or Delaware I tell Dave "We have to move!!!" :) (Seeerup is the one that kills me.)
LOVE it! Growing up in Virginia, I love the south. We didn't have quite the southern drawl, but always said y'all. And I always thought fixin to do something was a great way to say it. Yeah Katie!
